On December 10th, 2023, the evening gala of the School of Foreign Studies themed on New Year, New Faces unfolded at Tongji University at Siping Campus. WANG Xiaoli, Vice Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee of Tongji University and Deputy Director of Student Affairs, ZHENG Chunrong, Secretary of CPC SFS Committee, WU Yun, Dean of SFS, HUANG Lihe, Vice Secretary of CPC SFS Committee and Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection, LI Shubei, Vice Secretary of CPC SFS Committee, HU Qi and WANG Beilei, two associate deans, as well as other teaching faculty all attended. Besides, more than 260 students were present. The 2023 evening gala was hosted by WANG Yuheng and RAN Yifei.
This gala was prepared carefully and thoroughly and all of its programs were directed and performed by the teachers and students from School of Foreign Studies. The performances include songs, recitations, dances, instrumental performances, dubbing in languages such as Chinese, English, German, Japanese, French, Korean, Italian, etc, fully embodying the multilingual characteristics of SFS.
The gala consists of three parts respectively, sprouts growing towards the sun, young sails braving waves, and dreaming-chasing journey full of magnificence. In the first part, all performers were fresh students from 2022 undergraduate class and 2023 graduate class. They showed a good morale that they have fully engaged with life in the school by singing or dancing.
School of Foreign Studies in Tongji University has witnessed a century of glory. In the new era, everyone in SFS will bear in mind their original aspiration and forge ahead with their utmost efforts in union, as is always done in this university, to contribute strength of the youth to the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation.
